# RE list (extremecoders-re)

> A single-README list of 71 open-source reverse-engineering tools with a focus on binary analysis, kept as one alphabetical list from Amoco to X86isa. Each entry gives the tool's name, a link and a one- to three-sentence description; the entries span binary analysis frameworks, lifters to LLVM and other intermediate representations, symbolic execution and emulation engines, dynamic instrumentation, whole-system and virtual-machine introspection platforms, decompilers, debugger front ends and deobfuscation tools.

## Requirements & limits

- The reviewed README, last changed on 2024-04-16 when Cannoli was added, links 71 entries in one alphabetical list without categories; the repository's 56 commits since October 2017 mostly add one tool at a time. These are list rows.
- Entries give only a name, a link and a short description: 56 point to GitHub and 15 to project, university or vendor pages, such as Intel's Pin page and Tetrane's REVEN Free Edition page rather than source repositories. They state no maintenance status, supported platforms, license or date added.
- The repository holds only README.md, with no license file or contribution guide, so the list states no reuse terms; linked tools keep their own licenses. An independent discovery list.
