# ghidra-delinker-extension

> Ghidra extension that delinks a selected part of a program back into a relocatable object file. Its relocation table synthesizer analyzer reconstructs, from the Ghidra database, the relocations a linker normally discards, and its exporters write COFF (x86, x86-64), ELF (x86, x86-64, MIPS) or OMF (x86) objects with symbols and relocation tables that a toolchain can link again. The README lists binary patching through the linker, software ports, format conversion, library extraction and decompilation projects that reimplement a program one object file at a time among its uses.

## Requirements & limits

- Latest release at review: v0.9.2, published 2026-09-26 at the reviewed commit, with separate extension archives for Ghidra 12.0.4, 12.1, 12.1.2, 12.1.3 and 12.1.4; use the archive built for the installed Ghidra release. CI builds with JDK 21.
- Source builds need GHIDRA_INSTALL_DIR and Gradle. Dependencies come from GitHub's Maven registry, which requires a token with read:packages, or from vendored submodules through gradle installStandaloneDeps. After installation, RelocationTableSynthesizedPlugin is enabled from Ghidra's Experimental plugin list; a bundled DelinkProgram script covers headless use.
- Input is a program already loaded and analyzed in Ghidra. The README warns that synthesized relocations depend on the accuracy of the Ghidra database, so incorrect or missing information can break or miss relocations, and advises rerunning the analyzer right before each export. Only the listed format and architecture combinations are supported.
- Apache-2.0. The test references are built from C sources in the repository. The README's examples link the author's blog series, including one on decompiling the PlayStation game Tenchu: Stealth Assassins.
