# Link Pi ENCx encoders (unofficial documentation)

> A single-README notebook, kept since 2021 by an owner with no ties to the vendor, on the internals of LinkPi ENC-series video encoders and the TBS 2603SE, which share one firmware line; the author's first units use the F3520D board with a HiSilicon Hi3520DV400. It covers the Linux system and PHP web interface, undocumented features and internal pages, intercom and tally interfaces, default accounts and network services with hardening steps, HiSilicon media-pipeline diagnostics, board pinouts including the UART, firmware recovery, and translated release notes for firmware updates from 2020 to 2026.

## Requirements & limits

- The reviewed main commit, of 2026-07-13, added release notes for firmware 5.2.0 (build 20260531). Findings come from the author's and contributors' own devices; several sections are marked outdated, the release notes are machine-translated from Chinese, and the README says TinyENC1 appears to ship different firmware that the author has not examined.
- The procedures need the reader's own encoder and shell access to it. Firmware upgrade and full-flash packages come only from LinkPi's official download pages; none are committed. The repository's only other file is v4l2-ctl, a prebuilt ARM uClibc build of the V4L2 control utility added in 2021 without source or a license notice.
- The README lists the vendor's default credentials and exposed services as a security warning, says LinkPi did not answer the author's reports, and gives hardening steps. A 2026 update credits AI for in-progress LD_PRELOAD timestamp hooks.
- There is no license file, so the notes state no reuse terms; LinkPi firmware, software and documentation keep the vendor's rights.
