# MagiskFrida

> Magisk, KernelSU and APatch module that installs frida-server on a rooted Android device and starts it at boot, so Frida clients can attach for dynamic instrumentation without starting the server by hand. A daily GitHub Actions job checks for a new Frida release, downloads Frida's official frida-server builds for arm64, arm, x86 and x86_64, and publishes a matching module ZIP with an updater.json for updates from the root manager. The server listens on 127.0.0.1:27042 unless another port is written to a file in the module directory, and the module's action button starts or stops it.

## Requirements & limits

- **Prerequisites:** Needs a rooted Android device with Magisk, KernelSU or APatch on arm64, arm, x86 or x86_64; the README says to install MagiskFrida.zip from the GitHub releases rather than the obsolete Magisk modules repository. The troubleshooting guide asks for a working adb shell, a stable, up-to-date Magisk with MagiskHide disabled and an AOSP-based ROM. Building the ZIP yourself needs uv and Python (CI uses 3.13) and downloads frida-server from Frida's GitHub releases.
- **Scope:** Release versions follow the bundled Frida version; at review the latest was 17.25.1-1 (2026-11-01), built the day Frida published 17.25.1. The module only installs and supervises frida-server: instrumentation runs through Frida's own clients and scripts.
- **Testing evidence:** The CI workflow builds and publishes the ZIP; the repository has no test suite.
- **License:** The repository has no license file and GitHub detects no license, so it states no reuse terms for its scripts. The bundled frida-server binaries are Frida's official builds under the wxWindows Library Licence.
