# ReXGlue SDK

> Experimental SDK for statically recompiling Xbox 360 executables into portable C++23 that runs natively on Windows, Linux and macOS. Its rexglue CLI scaffolds a per-game CMake project and, from a TOML config, analyzes a XEX binary (import resolution, PDATA, block discovery, gap filling, jump resolution and call-target validation) before translating each PowerPC instruction into C++; a runtime derived from Xenia's emulator core, with D3D12 or Vulkan graphics, hosts the generated code. Generated functions are weak aliases that native C++ overrides or mid-function hooks can replace, so a port can be refined one function at a time.

## Requirements & limits

- The README cautions that the project is in early development with breaking API changes, and the wiki calls it experimental and pre-1.0, not a turnkey way to play Xbox 360 games or an alternative to Xenia. Users must specify function boundaries, implement missing kernel imports and iterate on the codegen output; unresolved calls stop generation as validation errors unless --force is passed.
- Release at review: v0.10.0, published 2026-08-21, with SDK archives for Windows amd64, Linux amd64/arm64 and macOS amd64/arm64; the default main branch holds that release, while nightly prereleases are built from the development branch, 24 commits ahead. Building needs a recursive clone, CMake 3.25+, Ninja and Clang 18+ or AppleClang 16+ on a 64-bit x86_64 or ARM64 host, and other compilers are rejected; the wiki's Windows setup uses Visual Studio 2022 with its Clang toolset and its Linux setup Clang 20+ with GTK3 headers.
- Each project's TOML config points at the user's own Xbox 360 XEX; the SDK ships no game code. Documentation is the GitHub wiki, last edited 2026-06-04, whose status section still describes v0.3.x and calls the graphics, audio and input backends in flux.
- LICENSE is a BSD-3-Clause text that credits Xenia-derived portions (GitHub reports NOASSERTION); submodules and the bundled PowerPC binutils executables keep their own licenses. The README disclaims affiliation with Microsoft and prohibits use for piracy.
