# Super Mario 64 DS: matching decompilation with relocation checks

> Reconstructs Super Mario 64 DS functions as C/C++ and permitted assembly primitives, comparing compiled output with a user-supplied cartridge dump. Independent relocation-destination checks strengthen the matching gate; integration into the PC port is tracked separately.

## Requirements & limits

- **Prerequisites:** Requires the user’s cartridge dump, the pinned mwccarm matching compiler, its separate linker/setup and Python tooling such as ndspy, Capstone and pyelftools.
- **Testing evidence:** The pinned README reports 11,389/11,389 matched functions, including 108 byte-exact assembly primitives, but only 10,957 linked into the PC port. These counters describe different gates.
- **Limits:** The same README retains older near-finished prose, and port/README.md describes a historical smoke-build stage. Treat matching and port-playability statements as source-specific reports, not a verified complete playable port.
- **Attribution:** Agent-assisted matching is documented, together with source review and relocation checks.
- **License:** The repository has an MIT license; original game data and external compiler rights remain separate.
