Requirements & limits
- Prerequisites: Requires the user’s matching original ROM for asset extraction. The five target releases are separate.
- Prerequisites: The documented build uses GNU make, Python 3.6+, MIPS binutils, pkgconf and host development tools. Windows instructions use WSL/Linux; macOS instructions require an appropriate MIPS toolchain and newer GNU make.
- Testing evidence: The Makefile normally checks the output ROM’s SHA-1 against the selected reference. NON_MATCHING, a non-N64 target or nonstandard configurations disable comparison.
- Testing evidence: The pinned Jenkins configuration explicitly sets COMPARE=0 for iQue and enhancement builds.
- License: The repository carries CC0-1.0; original Nintendo content and any separate third-party rights are not supplied by that declaration.
- Scope: As checked on 2026-10-20, the reviewed 2023-08-17 commit is still the master head and GitHub’s last recorded push was 2024-02-04; the only GitHub releases are 2019 qemu-irix helper binaries, not game builds, the repository is not archived and the README does not mark it as maintained, superseded or archived.
