Integration
REA plugin for Hermes Agent
Nous Research’s Hermes Agent plugin package for REA. One catalog install registers REA’s MCP server, pinned to rea-agents 6.4.0 and launched through npx over stdio, with REA’s workflow skill adapted for Hermes and a separate crash-triage skill. About 170 REA tools stay behind Hermes’ on-demand tool search, and the adapted skill asks before tools that run programs, drive apps or change a connected Android device.

Requirements & limits
- plugin.json declares 0.1.0 under MIT. Hermes’ catalog lists it as an official Nous Research plugin for Hermes 0.22.0+, installed with hermes plugins install rea and hermes plugins enable rea; it is not published by REA. Requires Node.js 22.19+, 24.11+ or 26+ with npx, not 23 or 25. A later rea-agents setup for Hermes replaces the pinned server entry.
- Static JavaScript/ASAR, package, Go/Rust, PE, .NET and HAR analysis needs nothing else. Core-dump and ELF-layout tools need a Python with pwntools 4.15.0, pyelftools 0.33 and Unicorn 2.1.2 set in Hermes’ .env. Native decompilation needs Ghidra with a JDK, Hopper or IDA; Android needs JADX and Java; firmware and captures need Binwalk/Unblob, TShark, sigrok or WABT.
- Only the adapted skill asks: Hermes itself does not prompt before REA tools that run PTY commands, drive apps, change Android devices or overwrite files; skip them in unattended runs. Analyze untrusted programs in a prepared environment.
- In the README’s WinSCP 6.7 test the GUI import took 663 seconds under a 1000-second call budget, an author observation rather than a guarantee. Ghidra’s startup deadline is 900 seconds, while each call keeps Hermes’ 300-second MCP default.
- Hermes v0.22.2 installs the package; the per-server call budget needs v0.23.0. The about-170-tool and 460 KB schema figures describe REA 6.4.0. REA’s MIT notice is included and the crash-triage workflow credits crashlens (MIT); external engines and targets keep their own terms.
